Went around a bend to one of my prime spots and found a nice suprise. A camouflage Helicopter literally parked on the bank of my waypoint with I guess you could call them "soldiers" dressed in all black patrolling the land.

I was probably 200 foot away. I wanted to snap a picture but decided getting the camera out in front of this operation probably was not the smartest thing to do.

I've had a bunch of black helicopters directly over my head while fishing but this was a different level today.

Guessing the mexico side?

I would have took pics if this was towards the end of my trip. But just a few days into it, I did not want to risk getting locked up in Mexico or shot at.

Mexican side I am guessing. Yea I believe I would give those guys their space. I will get my first try at Falcon in February 21-23rd. Maybe I can finally get the DD monkey off my back.

clearly its mexican side, folks. Doesnt surprise me they were on the ground likely saw something and were taking a closer look. I would have simply waved and kept on fishing unless I heard shots. Just dont interfere with their work

This stuff has been going on down there for over a year now. Typically, when they're on the ground, they're after some bad guys they spotted from the air.

Yes, I’ve been recording 10 hours a day, bad part was this was at the end of the day and my batteries were already gone. The GoPro is the real deal though. Amazing quality.



Fishing has been slow I'd give it a rating of a 4. One 8, few 7's and bunch of 6's so far. No giants yet.

You take a picture they dont want you taking and they will have your camera...and you will gladly give it to them!

That's why I didnt break out my camera. Its way too early in my 90 day trip to run into some issues.
