I just received a reel I bought off ebay and it was a great price. The only thing is that the top part of the reel has been painted in an effort to cover something up. It is a Revo S and I paid $55 with shipping for it. The rest of the reel is pristine and I took it apart last night to check out the insides and they are nice and clean with nothing missing. The reel feels smooth as butter, but I am not sure about that crappy paint over job on it. I contacted the seller and they did not do it, they buy bulk merchandise and resell it on ebay, but they were willing to let me return it for a refund if I choose. So here is my question...should I (1)keep it and maybe take it somewhere and get it sanded down and repainted all nice and pretty, (2)keep it all nice and ugly even though it seems to perform great or (3)return it and just get my 55 bucks back and continue shopping? Thanks for your input.

2. Do you really care how good it looks if it performs well.

For $55 bucks keep it and fish it. It'll get scarred up in short order anyway.

I'm really picky about the look of my gear, as some already know, but I would keep it. For the price you got a steal. So what's a few more bucks to have it painted for a custom, one of a kind, look.

Keep it and paint it.

I'll do you a favor. I'll give you $65 for it and I'll pay the shipping.

How's that?

Keep it. Good looks doesn't catch fish or good spouses.

I can live with boat rash but an UGLY half-hearted paint job would drive me nuts!
