Hey forum I was just wondering if anyone does shark fishing down in Sargent. I know you may want to redirect me to tx-sharkfishing, but I have been there before and most people were rude. Not really looking for a partner or anything, but just interested if anyone actually fished down there. May go out one night to maybe watch.

Anywhere in the surf, along the coast, will be good for sharks. June to Oct. will be the best time.

Are you talking about in a boat or off the beach?

Off of the beach. On the Texas shark forum I read most folks fish the beach during the night on surf rods after kayaking out bait past the second sand bar.

Land Shark has the time of year correct. I've been fishing the beach here in Port Aransas and nobody is fishing shark. Water is too cold. Catching mostly Whiteing, Pompano, Drum. and a few Specs.

Sharks are present this time of year but you'll need to get the bait out to deeper waters, 400 yards or so offshore.

This means that you'll need very specialized equipment. Such as 12 ought reels with gobs of line capacity. You'll need heavy action long rods among a huge assortment of terminal tackle. And most importantly, a lot of know how. Definitely not for beginners.

70-72 degrees seems to be the magic number for the surf to really turn on. That normally occurs in late May to early June and carries through October or early November. By early Nov. the cold fronts, accompanied by lots of wind, rough up the surf too much for much fishing.

Keep it up Flats and we're gonna report you to the Mods for spamming the whole dang forum. Once is enough.

Oh, and because you felt compelled to mark this carp on every topic here and make a complete arse of yourself, I'm not going to even look at your link.
