Here's the nitty-gritty details. I will try to keep the list of participants updated. If you want to enter, PM me to make sure I get your team name on the list.

Richland Chambers Tourney Details:

• Date: February 25th
• Registration: Registration will be at Oak Cove Marina boat ramp parking the morning of the tournament from 5:30 to 7:00 a.m. I will be in the lot doing sign-ins.
• Oak Cove Marina is located off South Highway 287 off of I-45 in Corsicana. Take I-45 South to Highway 287 South in Corsicana, the Marina is located on the North(West) end of the 287 Bridge over Richland Chambers on S CR 3186.
• On the water as soon as you complete registration. Lines in the water at 7:30, Lines out of the water at 3:00.
• Weigh-in starts at 3:30, 4:00 cut off. Any teams in after 4:00 will not be counted.
• Entry Fee: $50 per boat. (A little higher than the last couple. I want to see a good payout for the winners).
• 3 Anglers per boat maximum.
• 100% Payout, 50% for 1st place, 30% for 2nd Place, 20% for 3rd place.
• Optional big fish pot $10 per man, 100% payout to Big Fish winner.
• Just for fun, (and because it was a great idea), Optional Small Fish Pot ,$5 per man. 12” minimum length to comply with TPWD regs. 100% payout to small fish winner.
• Unlimited rods per boat.
• Richland Chambers is a slot lake, 30-45” slot, so fish weighed in must be under or over slot length.
• 5-fish stringer (Small fish entry does not count toward the stringer).
• I will try to make sure there are a few door prizes for a raffle after the tournament. I will keep the list updated as any new information becomes available.
• Bank fishing is allowed. Teams of up to 4 can enter as a bank team.
If you would like to stay overnight, Oak Cove has rooms available for $65 a night, up to two people, and $7 each for any additional people. For reservations, call (903) 872-0888.

Tourney Rules:
• Participants must have working safety equipment per USCG and TPWD Regulations (i.e. life jackets for all passengers and a working fire extinguisher).
• All USCG and TPWD boater safety rules must be followed.
• This is R&R only, no trot, jug, set or limblines allowed.
• Slot rules must be strictly adhered to. 30-45” slot. Any fish brought to weigh-in violating the slot limit will result in disqualification.
• All fish brought to weigh-in must be alive. Dead fish will result in a 5lb penalty.
• No fishing within 100 yards of another competitor.
• Trailering is allowed, but Oak Cove has a good ramp and is pretty centrally located on the lake.
• Please make sure all trash remains in your boat or is disposed of properly. We don’t want to make a mess of the Marina or the lake.

If you're talking length, we'll use my tape. I need to get my paws on a set of certified scales between then and now just to use for the weigh-in. I have a digital, but it's only a 50lb scale.

I'm hoping to get a good turnout for this one. It oughta be fun. Chances are, I'll be sitting on the bank waiting or weigh-in. Lol. My normal partner(s) probably won't fish it.

Thanks Ricky. Depending on how the signups go, I may be on the bank just to keep track of things and make sure I'm there for weigh-in.

Last time I checked the lake levels, it was about 7 or 8 feet low. Oak Cove said their ramps are in good shape.

FYI... on the slot lakes, there is no minimum size limit on blue cats. Could make the smallest fish contest quite interesting.

"For blue catfish, length limit is a 30- to 45-inch slot. Blue catfish 30 inches and less or 45 inches or greater in length may be retained. Only one blue catfish 45 inches or greater may be retained each day. For channel catfish, minimum length is 12 inches. Daily bag limit = 25 blue and channel catfish in any combination. For flathead catfish, minimum length is 18 inches and daily bag limit = 5."

If I can make it I will be there. I will be banking it since I don't own a boat. Do I have to stay around the marina ? Also does my bank teamhave to stay around the same vicinity ? Or can we split up ?

The way I see it, if the boat guys can go anywhere on the lake, so can the bank guys. Seems fair to me. By the same token, as a team, the boat guys are all on the same boat, so the bank guys should probably stick together as well.

Cool. We're gettin' there!

I have to talk to a couple of fishing buddies to make sure but I think team "Hold My Beer & Watch This" will be there. I will know for sure in a couple of days.

I'm looking forward for this tourney. One question I have. Will children be counted as part of a team? I have a three year old and a 8 year old I want to take. But if they will be counted as a member of my team, I will have will have to find a babysitter.

normally childrent don't count but i'm sure Soren will let us know.

Kids are welcome to come along. Your team will be you and a partner, and the kids won't be counted as part of the team. Keeping the sport going with the next generation is important, so bring those kiddos and teach them what we do.

I've never fished one of these tournaments but I would really like to fish this one. It will just be me and my son. I will have an open seat in my boat if anyone is interested and wants a ride shoot me a message.

Too far for me Soren, Sorry. Not only that but I've only fished the lake for Bass and that was a LONG time ago, like 10 yrs. No idea about stumps etc etc.

No sweat Joe. I think we'll be doing one at Bardwell soon. Much closer. Maybe you can make that one. No worries on stumps there, everything is very well submerged.

In my opinion slot lake tourneys can be the most difficult to win because the playing field is totally equalled when u figure you cannot weigh in fish "in tha slot" especially when u fish a lake that doesn't produce fish over 45" regularly.

It's alway tough to release those 15-40lbers during tourny time. I will say this, if u do get an over you can put the nail in the coffin normally.

anyone else going have a pontoon (Steve)? Ramp isn't steep, had to get the trucks exhaust underwater to get the toon off. Mine sits high on the trailer to though. It's fine for the CC's and any bass rigs, they were all over the place today.

Still haven't gotten confirmation from Steve. He's gonna be letting me know pretty much the day before. I'm still debating on whether or not it would be okay for me to try to fish at all, or if I should stay posted up at the ramp.

Well, my ride is a maybe until probably friday, so whether or not I get out on the water is dependent on that. Either way, I'll just be happy to have a good tourney. Should be fun.

Soren, There is only myself and another on my boat. If you decide to go and don't have a ride your welcome on the boat with us. I don't have all the bells and whistles some boats will have, but it can get the job done.

In fact, I'm hoping to get my first rod holders built to set up front, won't have any for the back. When drifting, I've been having to use my clickers cause there isn't anything to keep the rods from going over when bit. anyway, your welcome to join us if you need/want to.

Went out to the lake today not to fish but just to look around. Caught up with a buddy, the lake is on its way back up for sure. Richland and Chambers Creeks are both roaring and the we think it should be almost full by next weekend. The spot I took Soren to before is accessible now, I will be fishing it next weekend from the bank to see how it goes. All in all this rain is helping a bunch!

This is the way I've always seen it done since it's a catch and release tourny.

The fish you weigh in you have to release, however, as long as you are within your daily bag limits, normally the tourny director doesn't mind if what's "not" weighed in is kept.

Michael, I will definetly keep fish alive for weigh in but didn't want to throw back the 5-8 pounders. Hopefully our weigh in will be better than that but we will see. I only asked because this is a "for fun" tourney.

I'm all for keeping any eaters if you decide to do so. Like Michael said, all the fish you weigh in should be thrown back, but any fish over and above that within legal size/bag limits, take them home if you want. If I catch any eaters, I will keep them for the freezer. Seems like a waste having a whole day on the lake and not taking some fresh fish home.

Accuweather must be drinkin' during lunch or something. Weather Underground and The Weather Channel are both predicting 5-15 E/ESE all day with a high of 63.

If anyone would like to contribute to our church fish fry ( fund raiser for mission trip this summer) please let me know and I will be there to pick up your fish.

I was sure wanting to fish this tournament but the wife will be out of town on business and my son has 2 basketball games that day. RC is a great catfish lake that doesnt get alot of attention on here. Everybody be safe and have fun!

A couple notes:

When you get to the marina, please pop in to the store and pay the launch fee. I believe it's $3 or $3.50. The marina will open the doors to the store at 5:30 for us. Also, the cafe in the store makes a pretty good breakfast and a good hamburger. Don't forget to pop in and buy a drink or something to show a little support and appreciation for allowing us to use the facility.

Also, I was going to try to get plastic tubs for the weigh-in, but I just can't afford it, so if you could, bring a tub or a cooler large enough to bring your fish to the scale.

Looks like the temps will be very bearable. Just waiting to see the final outcome on the wind. I went to 3 different sights and they all have a different forcast. Can't wait. Be the first time to ever fish for blues there but looking forward to it.

Well, Accuweather, Weather Underground and Weather Channel are all pretty much on the same page. South winds 5-10 all day, high of 61-63. It's gonna be chilly in the morning though, for sure.

I've had a heater in this boat before Soren, but I don't it will be quite that bad!!! LOL

My transportation situation has changed a little. I'll try to be there as close to 5:30 as possible, but if I'm not there exactly on time, just hang tight and I'll be along ASAP. We'll make the sign-in process go quick so everyone can get launched and on the water with enough time to find bait.

Just to let all of the guys know I will be bringing a box anchor for sale. It is only 1 and it will be $45. It will be last one that I build for awhile. Look forward to seeing everyone there in the morning and at the weigh in.
