Have some free time today and was thinking about hitting Hubbard. I'm one of those "green trash fish guys" and after reading and seeing you guys in action last Sunday, I've got the itch to start fishing Hubbard for Hybrids and Sandies. I had a great day Sunday. Caught 3 nice Hybrids and lost one that ran like a freight train. Man those fish are fun to catch! What are you thoughts about todays fishing possibilities? Looks like a nice day with light winds and a moving barometer. Think they will be on?

Thanks guys,
Gary - JackMason

Today would be a good day weather wise for sure. I think you will do okay because these fish are trying to pack on the pounds right now before the spawn. What ever you were doing sunday to catch them will work today also. I would go if I were in your shoes. Tomorrow will way to windy so go for it today thumb

today definitely looks like a good day to me. I agree 100% with what planokeith said...get in the same areas you caught fish last week and see if theyre still there. if theyre gone, keep searching around points and protected coves. stay 29-34ft deep.

and just one other thing...last week for me, the smaller baits caught bigger fish. think "flies" cheers

good luck and give us a shout back

My glass half-full side tells me, before cold front, light wind, the fishing shoulx be good. My half-emptied side tells me the GOOD rain we had will drop the water temp several degrees and the bites may be slow. But this part timer/weekender usually go when posible. Duck is right, you dont know if you dont go grin

Can u do us a favor rcord the water temp, if u go. It was 49 on Sunday. Thanks in advance grin

And good luck!

Ya we know. If you're looking for an EXPERT

I'm not the guy. I have literally been fishing this lake since I were 13! I can say I've caught more big/quality fish this winter than ever before. That's only cause I've never fished during the winter!

This cold time fishing is the BOMB! Every one said it correctly earlier. Go back where you caught fish and check it out. If not, follow a white with red stripe CC, or a sea pro, a bass tracker, aluminum and red well I wouldn't follow him, a champion white bottom, black top noisiest guys on the lake. but we love em. Last but not least do not follow me, unless my wife is in
The boat. Then you know we are catching fish.

Man that was a hell of a run on sentence!

Good luck Mike

Water temp was 47.3F today, we were there from around 7:45am to 4pm. First fish was caught at 8am. Things slowed down until around noon when they went crazy by the red barn. We followed the birds almost to the damn, then back to the cove by the barn. Ended up with 23 keepers, threw back and missed a bunch also. Had my first dual fish catch with a shiny slab and a green 1/4oz road runner. Some of the other guys were using sassy shads and catching also. Thinking of returning Friday afternoon.

I am no expert but I sometimes get to fish with a guy that is an expert on Hubbard. He always tells me the big fish are down at the dam and sometimes by the ladder. The dam has been paying off lately but, he has never showed me that ladder secret. hmmm

That's ok Mike. Lately everyone in my boat has been catching fish but me.I feel like an unloved guide. hammer
I must have lost my touch or mojo or my rabbits foot or my 4 leaf clover. When we left the lake last weekend my son asked me if he could keep my credit card for the weekend to do some after Christmas shopping.

I JUST DON'T GET ANY RESPECT. mad

You forgot "Pipe". Always fish next to a pipe smile Oh and don't worry about humps you marked in the summer, because they flaten out in the winter wink

Well men, I would have bet money that the rubber mallot method was a joke. A TFF spoof that someone started here on the forum, but Seapro Todd convinced me today that it works. Everytime he started knocking when we were only showing balls of bait on the graph the fish would show up and we would nail them. woot

I am now looking for a professional knocker to go with me to call the fish up for me. hammer Please do not tell my wife I said that.

Maybe this old dog can learn a new trick. cheers
