Same as crappie, for me is just flour and cornmeal, and fry whole. Love them little suckers but they sure have a lot of little bones. Be careful giving them to children.

Baked on the grill is best for me. TreeBass got it right on the money.

That's the perch pond at the state park? Might take the kids there if there are still trout in it.

A couple of years ago, I went to New Mexico where we rented a cabin next to the Philbrook Boy Scout Ranch at 9500' and fished a little private lake/pond for trout. Used Jig'um jigs, 1/32 oz
and caught many. Didn't have a grill so cooked them in a big black frying pan same as crappie and boy were they good! Recommend Jig'um for a mess of trout!

OkieBob,

If you're a big trout fan, I'll bring you some the next time I'm down at CCL. I go to Beaver's Bend in SE Oklahoma each year between the XMAS/NY holiday. We bring home some of the decent sized ones (14-18") for the freezer.

Take the kids fishr2099,the trout were stocked yesterday. There are small dinks but a few larger dinks. It will take a month to fish the trout out so until Feb 10th fishing should be good.
