Near Corpus/Port A. PINS is Padre Island National Seashore. Bob Hall is a big pier off the beach front.

it's been hit and miss on the pomps. the red tide slowed things down for the begining of the winter. it's been looking better as of late.

Got one nice Pompano and a very large Whiting this morning. Also quite a few smaller Whiting that I didn't keep. Using Ghost Shrimp for bait. Pumping them out of the sand right where I'm fishing. Fishing the beach between Port A. and Packery Channel.

Now that you've caught some bait go catch some big fish. Whiting make excellent bait.

I'm probably not headed down until mid-June. Winds/sea conditions just aren't predictable enough to get offshore until then.

However, stick that whiting on a surf rig and chunk him out past the 3rd sandbar and I'm sure somebody will come along that can't resist a taste.

Went fishin' on Thursday, Jan 12 at SPI and caught a huge Pompano in the surf along with 23 nice sized whiting. Have had good and bad days in the surf, but when the schools come through, it's all good!! fish
