If you don't have a boat, I don't think you'll do well anywhere in or near Fort Worth as far as crappie goes.

Cool, do you know if there's a fee there? Thanks, I'm looking for a place to take my 11-year-old.

crappie being what they are I might suggest taking you child fishing for cats or perch or something with a little more probable action, dang crappie so picky, why they so picky, just eat the dang thing.

Where to catch good crappie in or near Ft. Worth. If you have a boat and you can get to Benbrook you can tag along. I can show you areas where I and others have had previous success.
If you do not have a boat and want to bank fish at Benbrook for some Slab Sac a Lait,I know of a couple of good spots also. One of the places to fish and catch off the bank is good from about 3:00 pm to sundown, with the peak time about 1 hour before sundown.
