Id imagine that this question has been asked A LOT.... what type of cat fights the most and which one fights the least, and please don't say "the big ones fight the hardest". Cause that just shows your intelligence level. Anyways, the question stands.

You mean does a channel, blue, or flathead fight hardest? Most say a flatty will fight all the way to the net, where as a blue will eventually give up and roll over. I'm looking forward to finding my first flatty this spring.

Sometimes they fight and sometimes they roll up, depends on individual fish.

True. They dont alway roll up. I would say a flat head is the harder fighting cat fish there is in these parts.

From the two flattys I've caught I would say flatty fight harder. But it also depends on the fish and I thing time of year. I've had some late spring and summer blues give it all they had, they're lean and mean.

It all depends on the conditions. Cold weather fish are more to just roll. Warm they fight a bit more. Warm and early morning feeding hold on

I have to say a flat-head fights harder, from this picture, you can see that even a small one has the equipment to be a bigger fighter!!!

prolly irrelevant but hand to hand or hand to mouth a blue cat will hurt ya ... a 10#'er can snap yer hand & it feels like being hit with a 2x4 ... a yella will snap ya but it don't hurt where a blue will stun the carp outa ya ... only had 1 yella ever hurt me, 31#'er & he would inhale my hand and shake his whole body, head to tail hard as he could, then spit my hand out and back up just out of reach ... did that 6 times before i got a hold of'im ... couldn't put my hand in my pants pocket next day cuz it was so cut up

I know not directed at me, but thought I'd chime in..

I tried "lipping" this yellow bull over the weekend and that was a mistake. Hurt like hell.

I've never caught a blue, but think flatheads fight harder than channels.

Not asking for your home address but maybe a city. Localization can get you help from guys that are close to you.

Let me chime in. I have caught big blues and big flats. And by far the flat wins from hookset to hook removal. But the blue wins from hookset until half way through the fight. OK now I am crying I need to be trying to get either one.

LOL Stinker, so we need to get your alley cat. I would say it is about 8-10 lbs and tie him to a 8-10 lbs Fathead put them in the water and have a little tug of war. See how far he would get drugged. lol

I agree w/ Sir....a blue hits harder generally from my experience, but once hooked, the flattie takes the cake.

Channels fight more like flatties IMO.

Flathead for sure. But if you want a bigger battle than a flathead try snagging for a spoonbill from the bank. With this you have to have a lot of water coming down the rivers when they spawn so even useing 50 lb. test to 80 lb. test line a lot of the time you will have to walk down the river bank or it will strip all of your line off of your reel and keep on going. Have seen this done more than one time. Hard to even bring in a big spoonbill if you happen to snag it by the tail. Just my 2 cents worth of fighting fish. fish

You know, if you really think about it, it doesn't really matter where my location is. If you look back to one of my previous post on another topic I ask "does anyone know of any power plant discharges near the frisco area?"
So if I have a question I will give an area of reference to allow you to better understand my question. Which none of my posts ( that I can remember) have needed a "town or area I live in".

And besides, I put it my location as "your backyard" because I think it is humorous and if you don't well then I can't and won't try to change that.

This guy,

They're all lying about where they really come from.....so we can't tell them to all go there. flame

Honestly, because you are making it a big deal to not put it. That's what it boils down to. If people know what area you are in, people are more likely to help you out, and invite you to fish with them. Friends are easy to make around here if you are friendly in return.

Ok. That's your choice and I respect that. Now why make a big deal out of nothing?

But to answer your question I would say pound for pound channel cat.

I didn't run my mouth. I just don't want to put my location on here.

[color:#CC0000]Could you please elaborate a bit?

This is why I stay out of the Bass section, I know there are some great guys there also, just too much of this stuff---
Yes I'll be glad to.
I hope I can make sense and not look like I am just rambling.
My reply was a reaction to your post and I do not speak for anyone else on here, so if what I write offends you, it will be me and not "The Catfish Section"
This is already taking more time than I want to spend on this so I'll be direct.
When I see statements like--

"Cause that just shows your intelligence level. Anyways, the question stands."
"Why don't you put your social security number down?"
After these I see your past post and you seem to post in the bass section a lot.
Not sure why but along with some very encouraging folks in that section, there just seems to a lot that answer like you do.

I just don't like it, but that's Ok.

You have a right to say it and I have a right to not like it.

This a very welcoming section, but some folks are just harder to warm up to.
Maybe its me, maybe it you, doesn't matter anymore.
I'm done here with this.
I hope you get a satisfactory answer to your original question.

Yes, but let me try to explain where I'm coming from. Someone on the internet asks your location. Then asks you to go fishing with them. Next thing you know you are getting murdered by some pedophile. All because you put your location. I might sound like I'm getting an atitude or being rude, but I'm really not. That's the bad thing about non-verbal communication. So if anyone on here is offended or what ever else you are then I'm sorry for making a big deal out of nothing

Ok, well I said " that just shows your intelligence level" because, I didn't want answers like "the big ones do". I was asking a serious question and not trying to be a pain.
The second quotation I can't remember the exact context, but that phrase was more of a filler if you will. You know like something to say to break an awkward silence or what ever.
The third quote was, thinking back, uneccasary but I didn't think it mattered my location if I was asking a question like "what type of cat fights the hardest?" it might be just me, but I'd say that was a pretty general question that did not need a certain location

Hey kid. I would'nt have people thanking me for taking them fishing or know a bunch of these guys by name if I was the murderin type. I also would'nt represent a Tackle company or advertise for two very well known guides in North Texas. You're either hanging out in the wrong chat rooms or still live with your mother. Nevertheless welcome to the catfishing section.
