I am thinking about building a few rods and would love to see it done in person first. I know there are plenty of places to buy custom rods but prefer to do it myself. Youtube has videos but not as good as standing there.

Mark if I wasnt in the middle of moving,lol...Id be more than happy to let you swing by and sit with me. But feel free to email me and I will help you in anyway I can. Rod building can be very therapeutic....and sometimes a little stressful...But the rewards are phenomenal! Its highly addicting, and be prepared to make a messy/sloppy work station!! The MH seminar in Dallas may be a great start!. http://www.mudhole.com/Learn-Rod-BuildingHit me up anytime,I truly enjoy helping others in the craft. Walker

Hello Walker, Because i like to fish with artificials and long rods i have built many rods on fly blank(ALL STAR AUSTIN 9'W5,W10,CTS,SWITCH ROD )+extension. I have changing some SAGE,G.LOOMIS IMX fly rods in spinning rods,so i like the spinning rods built on fly blank . I was catching many white bass(and buffalo carp, flathead catfish) below Livingston Dam and many red fish ,speckled trout, flounder, black drum at ROLLOVER PASS with this rods on jig. You can see in this picture one rod built on fly blank ALL STAR AUSTIN 9' W10+EXTENSION (HELIUM LTA from KISTLER)fighting with one black drum Uploaded with ImageShack.usAnd the black drum(C&R)catch with this rod Uploaded with ImageShack.us Regards,
