Found this on Craigslist. Only good thru June but a bargain price. Family had a slip here as a kid and the fishing was great. Somebody needs to jump on this. http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/boa/2791083673.html

Anyone want to get together on this with me? I'd move on this with 3 to 6 people.

I read that and thought $500 a month until June 2012. It seems like a lot but a 40 foot slip is pretty big. Did you verify that he wants one pmt of $500 and the slip is yours until June 2012?
I had a ski boat at Silverlake last summer and they only give out 2 electronic gate passes. You should ask if you can get more gate passes.
Good luck.

It is per month. I figure with 5 guys at $100/month if you use it 4 times a month that comes to $25/week. I spend that much on gas going to out of town lakes anyway (when I go alone). 6 guys it comes to $83/month, 7 guys is $71/month.
As for passes I didn't ask but it could be worked out.

At $500/month, I don't think you are getting much of a discount. You should check into signing a new lease on a shorter slip - like 20 footer for around $200/month.
There are 3 marinas on Lake Grapevine and they are owned by the same parent company and have similar lease pricing. You have to sign a one year lease. At least Lake Grapevine has not gone down as much as Lake Lewisville and a lot less than Lake Lavon.

OK, I arranged for the following: $250 per month on a month to month basis. 5 guys would be $50 per month plus a little for electric (I will cover this and you guys pay me back). If you use just once a week it's $12.50 per use, not bad at all considering no crowd, close, etc. I was told there are other slip owners feeding fish there. Definitely worth a month or two.
Only issue is just 2 gate passes. We have to work that out but shouldn't be too hard. I'm in Arlington so I'm not far and will probably be up there every weekend anyway, make it worth my while.
Who's on board?

Would you ever think about scotts landing? I've already got a key pass for that marina and i think you can have more than two at that marina. They are nicer people to deal with at scotts landing in my experience.

I would do this no problem but 2 passes is a deal breaker. I see problems in your future. See if you can get more passes and then PM me.

Question is....are the fish there? Ain't no use in a 40 foot slip if it's lifeless. Since buzzard and I are both in Arlington I'm sure we can work out something with one of the passes. Buzzard--are you in south Arlington? Gotta work fast to get it baited and landscaped before the fishies start staging if they haven't already.

I have been at Silverlake for a couple of years now and fished every slip out there. All I can tell you is that none of the 40' slips are baited except for maybe one in the area that he is describing. And from experience, if you don't have a boat in it, don't expect it to draw many fishies. One good thing is the depth. It is 30+' in those slips.

eh, I've kind of given up on this one. For this to really work we need a slip for yearly lease so we can set it up and let it 'season' with structure, etc. And yes, more passes needed.

Hey, I am just south of you gues on bowen and I-20.
Maybe use arlington guys should be looking into a lease on joe pool at the oasis .. looked at it: $2165 per year. Would take 10 guys to get it down to $200 range and it would be on one of the slips close to the store not further out toward the lake like I would like.

if we get 2165 guys together it would only be $1 per year per person, you would get 0.1685912240184758 days per year to enjoy your investment.
