I know someone who would have loaded his rod box with them.....
but someone thought it would be a good idea to put that ugly black reel seat on them, instead of keeping the original look with the desert sand colored reel seat.
It's a shame too, cause I really wanted them as well.

So you care more about reel seat color than rod quality?

Going to be tough to find a reel in desert sand or camel $%#£ to match. Oh well, there's always Krylon spray paint.

Ahahaa! You guys are so funny.... Your damn right our minds were changed on this particular rod. It's not how it was supposed to be. (not Dobyns in general)

Look guys, I understand that the look of a rod means nothing to most of you but that's not the case for me. When I first saw this rod, the look is what appealed to me. A full digi camo rod and matching reel seat to represent the ArmyBass Anglers and the Army. I'm sorry if you guys don't agree that I care what my gear looks like. I do and this was my opinion on the rod.

OMG, you guys sound like the kid on the Kindergaten play ground that had his ball stolen. Nothing at all has been mentioned about the quality of the rods. Dobyns are my favorite rods. Some won't own a Carrot stick because of the color, or a duckett or veritas because they are white. I couldn't wait till the Coalitions came out. I had to have one. I knew about Dobyns rods so I was so anxious for the Coalition. I even ordered mine but they were 6-8 weeks back ordered for the 735. I even took one more step and tore my Daiwa TDZ apart and painted it Desert Sand just for this rod. So if the LOOK is not what I like or what it was presented as, then yea, I have the right to decide if I want one or not now. I'll just save a bit more and stay with the Champions. It's all just a matter of preference. So don't get all bent because someone has a different way of looking at things. I've seen someone make a decision about a 40K boat based on a color of the stripe! Oh and Tiltman just your own post contradicts itself. I suppose that none of your equipment or boat is based on nothing?! Not rod choice, color, brand. Just all 5 & dime store stuff? Priorities? In fishing? Are you kidding?

Eric, Evan is a big boy and doesn't need you to come to his rescue. I read his last post and respected it.
On my stuff, look at my boat its built for one thing and it sure isnt looks. My rods, I use powertackle for thick slop because I have yet to break one, the rest I use for various applications but again not base on color or appearance. Reels all shimano citicas , why.....? because they are affordable and hold up fairly well if one breaks they are not so expensive it kills me to get another one to replace whatever Jack Kernan cant fix. My stuff is all a hodgepodge of what works from hard baits to plastics.
On priorities, yes I said priorities. I have one main priority in fishing: to figure out the fish. Not to look cool, not to be on some ones pro-staff, not to look like I am on some one's pro-staff, not to garner compliments on how pretty my boat is, and definately not what my rods or equipment look like. Now until Evan's last post I didnt understand the reasoning a reel seat was important. Now I do, it was supposed to look like a camo'd piece of equipment ala the Army or infantry which I surmise he was in at one time. Now I get that and can understand his dissappointment that they changed it.

Then I'm with you all the way. And it is not me coming to his rescue. He was speaking more for me. I was the one that has wanted this rod. And I was the one dissappointed. I think we understand each other now. Much respect for you. Thanks

Are these rods only made in support for ArmyBass Anglers? I think one with the Marines Eagle, Globe, Anchor would look bad arse.
