Went out last week, fished for 3 hours. Ran the lake several times and everything worked great. When I got in the no wake zone headed back to the ramp, I would put it neutral and it would remain at a slow idle. I had to put it back in gear and quickly put it back in neutral to finally get it in neutral. This kept happening. Just wouldn't go into neutral easily. Ever heard of this? 1993 Nitro, 150 Johnson Fast Strike.

Check your lower unit oil. Had one 2 weeks ago that had water intrusion from prop seals and it was trying to stay in gear forward or revearse. You might be able to adjust the shift cable. Could be the shift cable getting tight.

Thanks for the info. I'll check out the lower unit oil first and see if that fixes the problem the next time I'm out on the water.

If you are running a hot foot in your boat, make sure you are pulling it all the way back to you.sometimes they get a little sticky and if there is still a little bit of throtlle applied to the engine,it will not shift into neutral and if it does it will be very hard to do it.
