My buddy Kelly and I worked our arses off all day Saturday! crazy
Re-brushed 4-5 old piles, and created a dozen brand new ones!

No fishin whatsoever, just a chainsaw, 20 or so blocks, some stainless steel wire, marker bouys, our GPSs(of course), and a bunch of elbow grease!
Funny thing is...it felt just as good as catching two limts, when I made a final pass over all those piles checking the coordinates and seeing how good they looked. I would have sworn I saw a couple of 3 pounders on my graph already! wink

The good lord blessed us with a beautiful day, and not a single spy...I mean boat...came by while we were dropping our piles. Only way the day could have been better, would be if we were already fishin. smile

Man, I can't wait to fish 'em this summer!!!

If it isn't legal and he's caught, I hope he has a jury full of cedar fear sufferers. They would acquit him! :-) God bless cedar choppers. The only good cedar is a dead cedar (on the bottom of the lake).

I hear ya. This is the best time of year to drop Brush Piles. My brother and I have been putting Brush Piles out for about a month. We are using Baboo and a few tube structures.

We have put out 16 of these Boo Buckets, and have 12 more waiting for a calm day to get on the lake.

We have also put out 5 of these with 5 more waiting on a calm day.

Looks like Sunday may be the day. bannana2

My CORP lake encourages it. See for yourself.

Might as well build and sink condos, the lakes look like chocolate milk anyway. It's great to have the water though.

I was more refering to going to the bank and cutting the trees down, but do agree the only good cedar is a dead one.

To answer a few questions:
We had permission to cut the trees.
We used cinder blocks for weight.
This lake is only 10-12' deep max, so most piles were dropped in 8-9' water.
