First time I had a chance to get out and fish this year was this morning at Independence Park in Missouri City. This is a new swim for me and it has not seen much fishing pressure in the past as far as I know. This swim was intriguing because it is a smaller venue, has pretty scenery, has plenty of bank space, and you can park close

. At the end of the day I caught a 5 lb common and a 15-20lb buff and a 12" catfish. Not too bad for about 4.5 hours of fishing, but not as much action as I had hoped. I also got to meet BPS and The Carpenter showed up after awhile too. Heres the details:
Fishing Time: 7:30AM - 12:00PM
Prebait: 5 gallons of range cubes a day before
Hook Bait: Tres Flores Banana Maize
Method: Old Fashioned Oats, Tropical Maize, Bird Seed
Rig: Standard hair rig neutral balanced
Weather: Started Foggy, then was cloudy, then got sunny, then rained, then got sunny again
This buff actually sucked the rig so the hook went through his gills and wrapped around and connected back in my swivel below the weight. Almost like he lassoed himself through the gills. First time I've ever seen that!
