A week or so ago someone was asking about Hamm Creek Park above Whitney. I went yesterday, here's my report. The whites are starting to show up. There were about 10 people fishing from the bank rite their at the park. Most of them were using minnows and catching one here and one their. I started the morning off by paddling up to Painted rock about 1 1/2 mile up looking for Crappie. Well the Crappie were their but were running kinda small. So after a couple hours I decided to head back down thinking the Crappie mite not have been able to get up that far due to the shallow water. So I paddled down past the park and started throwing a white RoadRunner at any log, rock, or piece of cover I could find and guess what, I found them. The crappie that is. I caught about 20 keeper Crappie and maybe 50 Whites. I only kept 4 Crappie for my supper and a few whites for Mom and sis (they like the whites better, weird I know)
So there you have it. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the report. I was asking about Hamm Creek on here a while back. I took the family out to Dinosaur Valley State Park and stopped by Hamm Creek for the first time. There were a few people catching sandbass from the bank then too, but it looked pretty slow. I may have to head out there soon and try out the crappie fishing.
