They were upside down? So, the wheelbarrel and ballon were falling not floating because the O2 was going up not down? How did they stay upside down? Wait a minute I need to watch again.

The balloon and wheel barrel were more dense than the water, therefore they sank. The balloon wasn't filled with water, but something else. They were less buoyant and likely had some type if gas trapped in the feet portion of their wetsuit. This allowed them to walk upside down.
