Anyone use one yet? I am a Shimano Core snob but this reel is about half the price and almost the same weight. Being an aluminum frame also has its advantages for me since I fish saltwater and the core's are maint hogs.

Half the price? Where you buying $500 Cores? As far as the Exo, I like Quantums but the Exo isn't worth $50-80 more than the Smoke. Plus it's an ugly reel, lol.

I'd like to try one, but they don't have left-handers yet.

I like the way they look and they are very light. I'm just not that sold on Quantums. I have bought a couple of their $80 - $100 reels and my Citica is better. I bought a Smoke and ended up returning it and getting an E7.be

Maybe I' a snob too, but I do have an Abu that I like just fine....

yeah I posted in a rush. I meant it was cheaper than a Core and I was looking at the weights of each reel. I'm still not sure on trying this reel out yet or not. If I do, I'll report on it.

Im a huge Quantum guy been using them going on 15years now. I am waiting for the left handed models to come out as well. The smoke in my opinion is the most over rated reel they have. I was very disappointed in it. Now I have some TE's and those things are awesome!

Why are they releasing reels and not even having the lefty versions available? Heard that about the MGX as well.

Because the majority of anglers fish right handed reels. The MGX is available in a lefty, I've seen a few on eBay here and there.

I almost pulled the trigger on this reel the other day. The few reviews Ive been able to find (ones that have actually fished the reel) report the drag to be terrible. I just dont know if I can do it...but I want to.

The Customer Reviews from Basspro.com are horrible for the Exo.

I bought one, paired it with a NRX, fished in the rain Saturday in a little tourny and I like it. Usually have problems with back lashes from the wet line but not with this one...Think I'll keep it.
