Taking a couple people fishing (my wife and friend) on Tawakoni tomorrow could you give me any pointers for catching just a nice stringer of fish. i have not fished this lake since mid 90's and i want them to catch good amount of fish.( they dont have to be monsters just want some fun fishing with them) what baits seem to be working best and where. I dont want any honey hole info, just a place where we can catch some fish so i can get them hooked on fishing. We are putting in at the state park. Please help!

If you can get your hands on some fresh shad or even frozen your good to go for Blues. Stink bait work's great on channel cats. Even shrimp and or earth worms you will catch cats.

I launched off of Anchor Inn last week, and went over to Caddo inlet... the other side of 2 mile bridge from where your launching. Honestly just fish the lake you should have fun.

I wish I could help but I'm trying to figure that lake out also. I have had some good days out there but the last two trips were the slowest I have had. The only advice I really have to offer is fresh shad if you can get it, and if your not getting bit keep moving. I will be out there tomorrow also, so if you see a red center console feel free to stop by and say hi, and I will tell you if we are having any luck.

If you dont know much about the lake, then I suggest you catch some shad and go up towards the dam and drift fish, there will be several boats out there drifting, if you dont have a drift sock, you can use a couple of 5 gallon buckets, if you start catching a bunch of fish in one area, you might want to anchor up on it.

Good Luck to Ya!!!

Ask T-MAC about his special super secret monster catching bait.

Thanks to everyone for all the help .... I am looking forward to tomorrow. I fish richland Chambers and Palestine often so if anyone is ever heading that way hit me up I know some hot spots. However Palestine is in bad condition right now due to the drought. I will be in an 18' Lowe (gray) if anyone wants to stop by and say hello. Thanks again everyone
