You gotta try it! Quite possibly my favorite over regular fishing!

Very weird. Thankfully cold enough to make 16" of ice though. Still can't believe that knuckle head drove out though.

Cool pics, thanks for sharing.
Can you use those small perch as bait for bigger fish? Or considered a gamefish?

There's no limit on perch, so I don't think they're considered gamefish, but I've never heard of using them as bait. We just were jigging fathead minnows on flourescent jigs. Caught on and off all day long with the best bites early in the AM and also right at dusk.

Looks like a blast, although doubt I'll ever trust the ice. Neat pics

Ice fishing is really fun. Let me know if you need a guide. The one we used ( about an hour and a half north of Minneapolis) was great.

TXDragon, I have fished Leech lake before, I was born and raised in lower MN, so I fished a lot by the Iowa border, like clear lake. I remember growing up and cleaning 5 gallon buckets full of those with my grandparents. Miss that fishing.

Great pics. I grew up fishing Leech Lake some, but mostly on nearby Kabakona Lake. Can't beat a good day out on the ice.

Used to ice fish a lot growing up in CO, nothing like catching a brown trout early in the morning in January and taking it home and having it for breakfast!
