has anybody used one of these so far? i've used it twice and it seemed to work pretty well(didn't lose any fish, anyway). what i don't understand is when i put a white crappie in it that weighed 1.90lbs, it barely fit. i had to dunk it in the water before the fish would slide in, and it would barely come out after the air was released.

another thing about it i thought was funny was the 3 big fish we "popped" were supposed to weigh 2.4lbs according to the length calculation, but weighed less than 2lbs. i guess our texas crappie are less dense than eastern crappie. i caught a black crappie at LOP last saturday that weighed 1.61 that barely fit also. i guess its all good, though. like i said, none of the fish we caught died, so i guess it works good enough.

I have not used one. Where you puncture the fish is it in the place on the fish that seems to be the furthest extension of the bladder on the side? That is where I have always done it in the past and it worked.

if you haven't seen a crappie saver yet, there is a slot that has tick marks that correspond with the length of the fish. the instructions say to stick the needle at a 45 degree angle and 1/2" in. worked ok, but it seemed too thin.
