Custom rods just plain spoil a person. Congratulations on a beauty! I agree on the reel, I saw one at Academy. I haven't seen his high end reel, but saw a picture in the new Cabelas catalog this week.
Ya I asked him the other day and he said he could just forgot to let ya know before i left. He can also use whatever blank you want st croix, loomis, MHX, and I am sure there are others
Had the mr crappie reel on and it just didn't feel right. Went to academy to see what they had and found a uncle bucks reel weighing 3oz, hard to find a reel for such a light rod. Feels good and can't wait for the weather to warm up a little so I can get my son out there. He has already laid claim to this new rod before I even used it. Oh well

Seems like the rod would want to twist on ya if you hooked into a big fish, on a one piece blank like that.Changing directions on the spine. But then again maybe I just think to much.Good lookin craftmanship tho.
