Hey everybody, got out on Hubbard for the first time since getting insanely sick and it was an awesome morning. It felt great just to be back on the boat again cheers Fished from about 9:30-11:45 and it was easily one of the better mornings I've had in a while. No birds were diving today but the fish were relating to deep structure so that's all good with me. Ended up with 8 hybrid and 15 sandbass....all turned loose for another day. The hybrid weren't the 6-9# fish from last week but were all between 18-20 inches. The sandies were all fat and ready for the grease. thumb I appreciate all the phone calls from everybody while I was down. Means alot. Here's a few pics...Enjoy!

I'm offering a $200 special this Saturday if anybody wants to fish. Everything included, fish cleaned.

Hit the deck!

Bingo!

We were fishing close to you this morning Paul, on the red Skeeter. We left that area around noon after catching about 15 sandbass and 1 drum. Dropping small slabs all the way down, hitting the bottom and then picking them up about 2 feet and holding them there. We also casted out, waited for them to sink to the bottom, then reeled them in super slow. Went to a second place, then the birds starting going crazy by Bayview marina. By 1:30 everything broke loose but we had to leave to go pick up my son. So we left at 2pm while they were biting. Trying to see if we can sneak another trip tomorrow. Next time I'll get closer to your boat and say hi. My name is Diel.

I think we also saw Yaffe by the look of his boat. Looked like a Z8 Nitro. I'm new here but hoping to meet more of y'all.

Paul I didn't know you were sick... Sorry to hear about that hope you are back in the saddle... All- here is the kind of people we have on this Forum. Paul texted me this morning and said he was going out fishing. Told him I would be out later on... Paul texts me later with spot he caught them and sent some screen shots and a site map. I could tell from the map it was same point Keith and I caught them Saturday except a little further South. So Paul texts me that he's headed in and said he would leave a marker out for me... Now that's a friend. I ran out and found the marker. The fish had moved on but I looked South to the Red Barn cove and the birds were going nuts. I was there alone for about 45-minutes and Yaffe showed up! We caught some nice fish. Caught some more back towards the power plant inlet and headed in with some huge sandies and couple hybrids. Paul again thanks. I left the marker on my cleaning table down there. Happy Fishing...

Your right Paul. It won't be long until I pull the trigger on one of those LOL

Frank Sounds like you hit a homerun today. I saw the picture you sent me and you had a mess of those FAT sandies and a Nice Hybrid in the box. WAY TO GO!!!

Terry was texting me pictures of all the big fish they were catching at Twak and you were texting from Hubbard and I was showing every one here at work that My fishing partners were wearing them out. That still didn't get me off to go fishing rolfmao Thanks guys for all the updates at work. thumb

Thanks for the welcome PlanoKeith. And Paul, might have to get a trip with you to learn the lake. We usually hit Lewisville and Texoma but want to expand, especially with the Tollroad getting us from Frisco to Hubbard in about 30 minutes now. It's way too easy to turn down.

I was out there. I fished with fishboy frank on the west side then ran into a 100 plus birds working on my way back to the dock. Then the Dallas Police decided to drive their boat thru the middle of the birds asking to see a lifejacket. I was a very nice day on the water. I ended up with 9 sandbass and I missed alot but I'm getting better at the deadsticking thing!!

I think I missed about 20 hits myself, my brother maybe 10 or so. Still not used to such a light hit. We downsized on the slabs and it seemed to help some, but they were still pretty quick and light.

Sounds like you ran into the birds that we saw on the way out. It looked like all the birds in the lake were there. Hope to see you out there again, will get closer next time and say hi.
