OMC put two kinds of ignition on that era of 35"s. Post the Model number so that we can get to the right ignition style.

Thanks Old Frog. But I still ran into a deleima. Even with the model #, they still show both ignitions. So I am going to base this on the fact that it is Factory electric start and not add on electric start. Which in that case the motor uses a combination Stator/trigger assy all built into one unit. I would highly doubt that style would be at fault. So my first suggestion is to replace the CDI-switch box-ignition module (whatever you want to call it) after testing the voltage output on the brown wire and brown/yellow stripe wire. You do this by pulling those two wires out of the plug-in termial and hook an OHM meter to them. Then crank the engine and look for voltage. That voltage supplies power to the ign box. If you have voltage. Most likely it is the ign box....about $90. It cannot be the emergency kill switch unless the motor is remote control and then the control box would be of later ora as the early units did not come with a kill switch.
