Had a good, long visit with Brenda & Elmo at the Marina. Things are picking up, about a 1 to 1 ratio of keepers to throw backs. They got lots of new brush at the dock and ready to go.
They plan to open the store in mid Jan. to the end of Jan. (Depending on the thump) fish

There was one boat on the lake!!!...........................
Putting out condos, imagine that... scared woot thumb bannana2

I have a friend with a farm not very far from the lake. He always wants me to bring my boat down so we can go out on the lake. Is that lake hard to run(brush and stumps)? Any info on running the lake is appreciated. Also, any info on how to find crappie down there is appreciated.

The secret is to have a life size cardboard cutout of Keith Speer on board, crappie think he is the messiah and willingly jump into any boat with his likeness. By the way, I sell them for $127.50 plus tax and shipping.

stratos: First of all the lake is down 3.41 ft. From where the Marina is back East all the trees and brush was pushed up when building the lake. So all stickups are West of the Marina mostly along the South side of the lake. There is some small stickups along the South shore that you may try. Being the lake if down and there is little or no water in the sloughs, I would hit the rocks along the dam or fish the docks at the Marina.

OK on the 20% but the new ones with your head and the Jessica Simpson body you get only 10%.

Kidding aside I'm looking forward to getting down there as soon as we get a cold snap, never been there.

I might be up for joining you guys, or maybe drive down and meet up. My grandparents live down there, and I've been looking for a good excuse to go fishing, I mean go see them. Like to check out the docks there.

FishR2099; Brenda and Elmo are super nice people, they can put you on some crappie. So give em a call when they open and they will give you a full report.

Me and a buddy will be heading down there this weekend. I haven't been on that lake in a few years. Highly looking forward to it. If you see a red Bass Tracker 175 come say hi.

I had my son out there yesterday, i only had 4 dinky ones and a carp, several jerks that i think were perch. My son caught 2 decent carp, but the bite was slow and i had to work to get what i did get.
My parents are camp hosts at Liberty hill and he keeps an eye on the fishing too, ill be headed down there probably next Monday if the weather works with me.....

Sarge and myself were the first two people there this morning @ the Marina. The lake is very very low.We took about a half a lb. of minnows with us and we left with about a half a lb. of minnows minus 2.They just didn`t want minnows today. However jigs were a different story we must have caught about 40 + with the largest one about about the size of a pack of smokes.Fished from 6:00am til 3:00pm.We had nothing better to do.
