Thanks, ScooterAggie; it was an outstanding trip! Yes, we went down to look at the improvements, and it appears that the wade fishing is going to benefit substantially. They've created a sediment holding berme and drilled deep holding pools in the river. The theory--the river is supposed to hold the same amount of fish throughout the year, especially during drought conditions and when the water isn't being pumped from the lake. Money and time have been invested to create the improvements. I really hope it works well.

FFG: Correct me if I am wrong, but that looks like Jerome Gallegos with The San Juan Angler.

Yes, Castell, Days 2 & 3 were spent with Jerome and his green salmon egg fly was super hot. We enjoyed our week with both Jeremy and Jerome. Jeremy freelances when Jerome doesn't have someone available to guide for The San Juan Angler. Both fellows are great guides. Will book with them again!

The first of three fine days on the San Juan River was awesome! Beautiful. I have fished the river only three times in all my years trout fishing in NM. I always fished the water below the quality water, and once the quality water. Back then I was a UL spin fisherman. We have a store in Farmington, so maybe.
