My buddy Ron put this together in his shop......i think it will work well for anchoring and also possible drifts. I t is removable as well. Covers the angles in the back of the boat. I would like to have had the entire length with a rack but did not want to move a vertical rod holder. Not a lot of room in my 15 foot tracker. Saw some good ideas on the forum last month and this is the end product. I think it will work well.

Looks good, but your rod handles may not last long if you fish a lot. I'd check to be sure the edge of the flat work isn't cutting into the foam handle.

How is the conduit attached to the flat?

good point Bobby---ill pad the edge with some neoprene rubber for padded edge. The conduit is just bolted into the aluminum. I think it should work fine after a few adjustments.

Sorry to sound a bit deft. Did you thread the conduit and then bolt to it?

I built a similar set up for mine. Most of my rods have rings on the foam handles. I have a 10' spinning rod that is taking a beating from the weight of the rod pressing the rod holder into the handle. Works dang good for drifting and ancored

I work at a machine shop and I was able to use a CNC mill to build the base.

. Made some for my Jon boat, didn't want to drill into the aluminum. They have been working well. Not nearly as nice as yalls or the bee readys. But I can move it around and take them out

Kat Naber that looks like a good set up to me. I may have to build one of those for the front of my boat. I like the idea of being easy to take out
