The fishing was slow today. There were a lot of small fish caught and some pretty big ones too. This morning I watched Dragon Fly Jones catch some big fish and the whole rest of the day that fishing machine NotaNibble he caught some of everything that swims except Turtles and ducks, man once the fish started biting this afternoon it didn't take long to get close to a limit of fish. I think NotaNibble may have come closer to a limit than me.
A few pics:

Here with a few less desire type, allways a recipe:

Sac A Lait:

It was good to see Bud Spinner Baker out in his Kayak today.
He seemed to get in on some action also.

What time did the fish start biting? Curious to check the pressure.

Nice fish, you two! It was good seeing you on the water. I was on the yellow-bass-and-midget-crappie pattern, but that's about all.

As late as I got there, I only got to fish for a couple of hours. I was mainly just taking an afternoon to figure out the logistics of getting my kayak on the north end of the lake. It turned out to be tougher than I expected. All the parking lots in North Holiday Park were locked. That made it such a long trip to the water with my kayak that I went home and got the cart I load it on for a trip like that. I also need to get a longer anchor rope. The 25 footer I always carry in my kayak isn't going to cut it at Benbrook.

I always enjoy getting out, though, even if it's just to play with the yellow bass and hybrids for a couple of hours. It was fun watching you two cut up and haul in crappie, too,.

Now there you go!! You know how long I've had to watch Pat catch Sac-a-Lait to try and keep up? Whenever I'm with either one of you, I put the student hat on and try not to embarrass myself!
Happy New Years to you and the family brother. woot

No they ain't! every one of them slabs was glued to the bottom in deep water. We finally realized that they weren't in the magic 22ft.-26ft. zone...They moved out to 30+ feet. Check out the bugged out eyes from them deep water elevator rides.

There used to be a store Oshmans where we would get those thick Neoprene waders for winter time float tubing back them we had a whole float fishing crew, crazy and hard core fishing dudes.

Pat, how much has it come up? How many more ft to go before the mustang ramp can be used?

As of today, Benbrook's water level is at 684.86. That's just over 9 feet low, and they open the Mustang ramp at somewhere around 7 feet low. I'm thinking the end of January or first of February.
