I'm looking at respooling all of my rods and I know there are alot of new lines coming out right now so the question I have is have any of you guys used the Viscious Pan Fishing line, and if so what did you like or dislike about it? I used Viscious when bass fishing, but switched because it didn't seem to hold up very well when fishing around rock or brush.

.....but switched because it didn't seem to hold up very well when fishing around rock or brush. I think you answered your own question. Not a real good line, at least for me.

That's what I was guessing but wanted to make sure. Another Line company is about to release a new line that I absolutely love, but waiting to get my hands on some before I use it as my go to line. For Bass fishing though, it can't be beat in my opinion.

Not a fan of the vicious!!!! I personally use P-Line CX in the hi-vis green in 6 and 8lb! It is strong with little memory and I have had good luck with it! This is just my opinion as there any different lines being used for crappie right now.

theres alot of P LINE on sale at academy right now. im also starting to not like viscous, especially in winter, ite gets brittle, and too much memory it is very strong for its diameter though, . might have to try the P-line.

I just got some of the new Suffix in tangerine orange. I will let you guys know how it works out. I may end up switching to the Suffix Ice line. It is made for cold water application, specifically ice fishing.

I agree on Visious...not that good for the reasons given. Switched to Suffix Eleit in tangerine. So far,so good. Almost no memory. Got mine at Cabela's and have seen it at Wally World but, not in 6lb. Seems to be gaining in popularity and not too expensive.

You can get at a CAT Mtg. or order it from Pro Angler. I think it's around $8 for 330 yd. spool.

I got mine from Academy in 6lbs. They had 4lbs. as well but were sold out at the moment. I think I am really going to order some of the Suffix Ice from Suffix directly and put it on one of my other rods. I want to do a heads up comparison on their lines. And the Ice line is on like $4 but it is for a 150 yard roll. But I figure, I don't use more than 150 yards worth of line in the cold season so it is worth it.

This is just my opinion as there any different lines being used for crappie right now. I like that CX, too. The 8 lb is the diameter of most 6 lb line, is really strong, and casts well on my smallest spinning reel. On my bigger spinning reels, and on my casting reels, I use either Vanish 8 lb, Big Game 10 lb, or EZ Braid 15 lb, depending on what I'm fishing.

Call me old fashion but I seem to keep going back to Stren Original 10 lb test. I also use the Power Pro Hi vis yellow 10 lb test.

I have been slowly switching out my Vicious Panfish line with the Suffix Seige Neon Tangerine. I give it a over the Vicious. I fished the San Gabe @ Granger Sunday night in 40 degree weather. No line curl or memory on my spincast reels in that temp. Going to change line on all of my reels.

Power Pro Hi Vis yellow 10 lb. It will catch anything that swims, you can see it, it cast well and you can tell when a fish is looking at it. If they quit making it I would go back to Stren original 10 lb and keep it fresh on my reel.
