Anybody ever use a float tube in the bay to fish? I like to wadefish. This looks like a good way to get around.

Right up until that tide catches you and we all see you on the news from the helicopter watching you float out to the gulf....

I tried one thinking it would help wading in the marsh...it didn't at all.

A float tube is doable if your carefull, but who likes their feet dangling in the salt. I use a 1man pontoon alot in Colo. with a elec trolling motor and works well. You can oar or motor if needed especially into the wind or current. Tightlines

My thoughts: Pair of flippers, staying in the bay in semi shallow water using it to move around quicker with flippers. Just dont know if I am wasting the money I dont have. Also, saw one on Bass Pro Shop website that had a small anchor

You won't get anywhere fast in a float tube. I'd recommend a kayak instead. I've used a float tube in freshwater but never in salt but I would think it would be a real pita and not much value as far as easily being able to move to different spots

I agree with Nick.

Why would you float tube when you can walk everywhere you need to fish?
