I've seen the Hobie Sidekick Outriggers used on different kayaks other then Hobies but the H-bar is pretty new and I don't know if anyone has don that yet. I will say that the Pro Angler is pretty wide. The H-bar might be to wide for some of the other kayaks.

Yea, I'm looking at both to add to my 14.5 Native Ult. My outriggers are A LOT to carry around with me on trips but I really would like the H Bar to work. The problems I see are that the Hobie is 38'' and my Ult. is only 30'' wide. Looking at it I don't know if I could rig it to work.

The H-bars are pretty impressive but are currently made only for the "beamy" PA's. They are a bit too wide to fit a conventional yak.

We have a couple of newly arrived sets in the store. I would love to set up one on a floor display but it requires drilling into both of the black mounting plates. They are plenty sturdy to use as a "pull up grabber" or as a balancing assist while standing. When not in use, it will fold down over the bow and will not get in the way of opening the front hatch. I believe you can find a video on our Mariner Sails Facebook site.

The sidekicks work real good and have several adjustment levels. The complete set consists of two inflatable floats, a permanent crossbar mount (with brackets & mounting hardware), two articulated bars that attach into the crossbar and floats. The sidekick should be able to be mounted on a non-Hobie yak as long as it has a good flat surface for the stationary cross bar. Most of the ones we have mounted have been on Outbacks.

My brother told me about a website that you might want to check out for outriggers. standnfish.com

The sidekicks should mount pretty easily to your Ultimate 14.5. I am surprised that you are having stability issues. Both the Ultimates (and their Wilderness Systems clone Commander sisters) are some of the most stable fishing platforms on the market.

Can you elaborate on your specific stability issues?
