You should look at a boat in person. Many things could be bad that you can't see in a picture.

I bought my Lund off Craigslist. Made a good deal and am very happy with it. I was lucky and found one in Dallas but, if you don't mind driving to Minnesota, they have tons of them on CL.

I have seen many a person get burned buying off the internet. You need to either have a reputable tech inspect the rig for you or see it in person.

I'm not saying you can't get a good deal there but buyer beware!

I bought my boat off EBAY. I thought I'd bid low early knowing that someone else would outbid me. After a couple days and nobody bidding on it I messaged then called the guy who was selling and we agreed that if I was the winning bid I could bring my cashiers check along and if it was in any way less of a boat than what was advertised I could just get in the truck and drive off.

I drove from GP to North Carolina and the boat was better than I had envisioned so I brought it home.

I would not mind buying another on the internet but I would like to check the boat out before buying. If there was not a way to verify its condition I wouldn't do it.

I bought mine from a boat dealer on the internet through boat trader.com Did a lake test before I came home with it. Their mechanic rebuilt the motor and was there to verify all of that to me. I drove 300 + miles to get one heck of deal on the boat in my sig. Like everyone above has said. Go check the boat out before you buy it.

I looked at a boat on craigs list before I got the one I own and the guy was shady and didn't have all the titles etc. The boat was trashed. The picture didn't show all the broken parts and the missing seat. The motor would not start so he put some starter fluid in it and THAT"S WHEN I WALKED AWAY!!!!!! no one puts started fluid in a 225 efi . But the boat was not even worth 1000.00 dollars and he wanted 8000. God was with me on that one smile

So moral of the story is go look at the boat , demand to see all titles ,lake test and let a mechanic look at it

I should have said don't buy off of E-Bay. We do sell boats from our website.

I have bought several off of e-bay. I always have everything ready to go to the boat as soon as possible. Do not pay anything untill you check boat out. I have left 4 boats. Were not as described. They do have a boat check service that ia guarranteed if you have a problem after purchase.

Only if you can see, test and inspect before purchase. Be prepared to lose your travel costs...

I bought mine off the internet, but it was advertise through a dealer in ST Louis. He sent me pics and everything and a maintenance record on the boat. I drove the 4 hours there to look at it as I was on my way up home. He told me to take it with me and if I didnt like it I could drop it off on the way back to Memphis. I took it out several times that week to fish out of it and when I called him, I told him I would take it, we did all the papar work over the phone and by e-mail. He even put new batts in, change all the fluids in the Motor and bearings, all new fuel filters and it had a full tank of gas before I picked it up.

One of my fishing buddies bought a 31ft Fountain with twin 225 Opti's and a tripple axel trailer off E-bay for $28K. Then paid a fellow $1100 to bring it to Texas from Virgina. The delievery was the best part of the whole deal. The boat had Extremely high reviews from an indipendent marine broker. But...the boat had been sunk. Both batteries were destroyed, all the electronics were bad except for the running lights. One powerhead had been replaced with a well used unit, the other had rust on the crank and all six rods. It lasted one hour. Now reliese that the boat NADA at 75K. So after throwing another 10K into the boat he sold it for $45k. Still made a profit but it was one of those things that, He should have looked at it himself. Why even Ray Charles could see this boat had problems, and the Marine Broker,,,,,Well let's say he should enjoy his $1.00 paycheck for those services.........
