I need some help from you pros at Cedar Creek. 20 years ago, I used to come down from Abilene during the summer and rent a pontoon boat with several guys and sit under the bridge all night long and tear up the crappie. White bass would come through every once in a while, but we loved catching some slab crappie. We would drop anchor in the chanel under the bridge. I can't remember which bridge column?

My nephew is getting married in Ennis this summer, and I would like to try to do the same thing with all of the men coming in for the wedding.

Questions:
1. Where is the best boat rental?
2. Is my memory correct that Hwy 334 is the bridge?
3. All night with lights still good strategy?

Thanks for your help and any other advice.

Keith has the best answer to your question and Chuck comes highly recommened by all that have been out with him.
BUT, you may not be aware that the lake is currently 7' low and most all the marinas are closed on the lake and only one public ramp is usuable. That ramp is Log Cabin on the far SE corner of the lake a good long ride to the 334 bridges. Unless we get a lot of rain this spring, you'll have a really hard time getting on the lake at all unless Chuck finds a way.

Thank you guys. We live in Denver now and I didn't realize that the lakes were so low. I will be praying for rain. Chuck must know where the slabs are. I used to pour/paint/and tie my own crappie jigs. Do you have any suggestions on colors? I might tie up a few before this summer.

Thanks again for all of your help. Any other pointers, I would appreciate it.

You may want to call Bigchieflanding.com before you go. I thought they were closed the last time I fished at the bridge.

Cedar Creek equals anything with Chartreuse in it. I would also give the recommendation to call Chuck and have him set you up. The guys would have a great time and you'll catch loads of fish.

Big Chief is closed. launched at Log Cabin with no problem but it is a long ride to the other side of the lake! If we don't get any rain by this summer - you won't be able to launch anywhere on the lake.

I will add this, if the lake gets so low that all the ramps are closed we will still be able to run trips. We will either keep a boat beached or install a private ramp. Don't let it keep you from booking, we are planning on fishing despite the water levels.
Thanks for the referrals guys, we try hard to please everyone. Thanks
