At 3pm today(12/31/11)observed dead and dying 3 to 4 inch shadin thre vicinty of Rough Creek. hoped with the low water we would not get a GA bloom this winter. Water is clear,no foam so will hope it is a cold weater kill

4pm 1/3/12.....
many more dead shad than were here on sunday. also have a large school of dying shad water still clear. I am afraid this kill cannot be blamed on cold weather

The Marina right off 377 (Groggy Dogs)...I went to fish the boat slips Saturday (12/31) and there were Thousands of dying Gizzard shad and plenty of already dead ones. The shad were big ones too...It does not look good! I also found a small dead crappie and drum in the canal my house is on, Holiday estates area.

I hear the lack of water in the lake will make the kill worse. Fish look for deep water during the kill and well the deep water is now 6 feet shallower.
