Loc: On my kayak
I would have to say this has been the BEST year I've had fishing. The purchase of a kayak has been the wisest investment I have ever made in fishing. By far better than my boat. Less money, less work, less moochers wanting you to take them to the lake. The other great change this year was to learn other species of fish. There is as much fun in catching a 6 inch blue gill on a 2wt. flyrod as catching a 7 lb LMB on a heavy action rod. Actually it is a little more fun IMO. I can't explain the the excitement when you're in the middle of a school of sand bass and it is "FISH ON!" every cast. Not only have I made some great memories but I have fed my family. Crappie taste pretty darn good if you ask us. There is something to be said about catching, cleaning, and cooking your own food.

But the best thing to come out of this year has been the great friends I made on this forum and the knowledge that they have shared with me. If not for the great guys here I would never been saltwater fishing. I would still be chasing that never ending PB LMB instead of just catching fish. I've learned so much and had fun doing it. I've had a blast fishing with you guys and look forward to another great year of awesome fishing! TFF is a great platform but it is "YOU" that make this site so great.

Thank you and Happy New Year!

Ahoy Todd,
Using 2 wt as well as ultra light is a lot fun and the saltwater scene is a real blast. Catching sand trout, croaker, and whiting on 6# is awesome and of course catching a rat red or spec on 6# is another story.
Have a blessed new year. partyon

Don't forget you got to meet me this year too and that was pretty awesome. I feel the same way you do too Todd, I have met so many wonderful and outstanding friends from the fourms. Ill only be in TX for 4 years but I know in that short time I will make some great friends and come away with some outstanding memories. I can not wait until I can finally get a chance to chase some strippers with you all. Happy New Years everybody, thanks for welcoming me to Texas in the proper way with fishing.

I would have to agree with you. Some of my closest friends that I have here in Texas I've met on TFF. My main goal for 2012 is to reach out and get to know more of you.

Yep, Kayak fishing this last year has really been a joy for me too. I've meet some great people thorough kayaking that have made the trips in 2011 very memorable. I look forward to continuing the trend this year of meeting more kayakers and making more friends, and even greater memories. Thanks to all that shared 2011 with me on the water. Lets do it better in 2012!!!

Great bunch of folks here on TFF.
I enjoy the willingness to share information, tackle, food, fun, and fellowship. I also admire the willingness to help support great causes like Heroes on the Water. All those things speak volumes about the character of folks we have here.

Thanks for a great 2011 and I'm really looking forward to what we'll see happen in 2012.

May God bless each and every one of you and yours this year!!!

Agree with you 100 percent, Todd. I'm always looking to brag about how good our little corner of TFF has become over the last few years as kayak angling seems to have gotten more popular. IMHO, it's in large part because of the folks who frequent this site, and I'm proud to be a small part of that.

Here's to an even bigger 2012. clap
