Someone would buy a 500 if they would sell them one for a bass boat.

It was just a matter of time.

An engine that costs more than the boat, trailer, and electronics together! hmmm

there's no telling, i think the 557HP motor is based on Cadillac STV LS V8 & weighs pretty close to 1,000 lbs. It's a neat looking setup & idea, though primarily engineered & introduced for large offshore boats, thought you could see it on a huge bassboat before you know it.

Saw the new Basscat Jag at the Houston boat show w/Merc 350 SCI, but somehow..overlooked the price tag...ouch..thinking 80K properly equipped??

The Verado weighs 670#. Not many bassboats out there that can overcome that much weight on the tale. I would think you would get more speed out of a 300XS weighing in at a svelte 500#.

Ben,

A recent article listed the actual weight of the motor with power steering pump, oil, prop, to be 740#

Huge is right, but nimble with the 350 SCI. If I remember, that is a 80+ mph rig.
