Anyone interested in Kayak fishing Lake Dunlap on Saturday 31 Dec, I'm new to Kayak fishing and would feel more comfortable with a buddy. Jason 210-363-4591.

Nice weekend ahead will certainly bring out the glitter boats.I guess the wife and I will stay on LBL due to that. Just curious Gator what species of fish are you after?

I fish for all sport fish, Bass is the main fish that I fish for but I also will bring two ultralite poles for sunnies.
The last report I received was that Lake Dunlap was to low to launch a motor boat thats why I am trying to go there.

I fished there a bunch over the summer. I recommend putting in under the I35 bridge, you can paddle downstream from there to Lake Dunlap. I also recommend going upstream to the Mill dam. Take out on the south shore, and there is a little path to portage over the dam. There are no boat ramps in that section of the river so you will have it all to yourself, except of course other yakers you may encounter. I never caught much in either area, but I think that is 95% because I am a bad fisherman. I would join you tomorrow, but I have to be somewhere early for New Year's. Maybe another time. Happy Yaking.

Actually, with all due respect, put in under 35 and you are already in Lake Dunlap which starts at the mill dam and ends at the schumansville dam, aka Dunlap Dam.

You know what Jason, I changed my mind. I'm heading up there now. If you still read this, I'll be in a green pelican kayak, putting into the water at about 0900.

Nix that. So I went out to load the kayak and noticed a gas smell coming from the truck. Apparently, last night someone stuck a knife in my 2 month old truck gas tank to steal gas. What a way to start a new year....

Hope your luck is better on the water than mine was in the parking lot.
