I got a question. How many lake fork guides can you fit in the veleno at Falcon?[/quote]

......um, not as many that are down here. LOL. Veleno is getting pretty "skinny".

I make one 6hr trip a year to Fork and at least two 11hr trips to Falcon, both are great but to me Falcon just has that it factor over Fork. Falcon anytime of the year I can fish all day without another boat on top of me, now Fork on the other hand I just leave my live well open so all the aholes have something to cast at !!! I do believe Falcon will cycle down in a few years due to low waters and Fork will still be on top mostly because it is a true trophy lake and has a huge slot limit to protect it. Either way you Texas guys should hold your heads high ya ll have a awesome fishery and your state takes care of it, stop b@!$%&*^ about who has bigger fish. In South La we get one hurricane every few years and it kills ALL of our fish. You have about the same chance of winning the lotto as you do catching a DD.

Gillnets. I just don't believe any of the gillnetters are going to pull a 14# bass out and say to themselves, "Wow, this may be a Potential State Record one day... I'd better throw it back."

They are going to sell the fish along with all the other fish they've caught and the unknowing consumers like you and me will eat them in our McDonald's fish sandwich next week.

I thought the gillneter were catching fish for fish oil, not to sell fish for eating... They might be eating some of the fish, But the fish camp is cooking down the fish for oil.

One of the guides told me that the fish they catch in the nets are not for US products. I know this is second hand info but has anyone else heard of this before? Thanks for the info.

With as many lines in the water down there you would think some more 13s would have showed up lately. Friends of mine said the lake is packed worse than it was back during the bass TV days.

They are getting some amistad water now so hopefully that will spread em out so folks aren't fishing a certain guides water! Lol
