I don't know why but the website did not show all the picture, so I created a second post

The fish then released safe and sound to the water

After that about half an hour, another common

Then another one get in line

As about 4:00PM, got me HUGE hit again, took me almost 20 minutes to get him out of the water, probably I casted too far from the bank, and probably he is over 40lbs weight. I ended up having a 45.13lbs common....

Did you notice that the guy behind me, he tried to help me with his net, but it was too small hahahah.

The bad part was, I asked the lady to take me some picture, she ended up taking the picture of the fish, and cut half of my head.... There was only one picture that I could tell that was me smile
I don't know if I broke the State record, but I really enjoy fishing time.

I got home about 6:00 PM, and stopped by a Chinese restaurant to have dinner, the Restaurant is called Koi Lantern.... The food is not that good, but here is what I like

A good day so far, and I will try to enjoy it as much as possibly can before I'm leaving Austin next week.

Great job on the monster carp. Would have been a state record if you had some certified scales, I really enjoy the fact that you are catching some great fish without all the "fancy" gear.

Thank you for your comment, I don't have bite alarm, will think to get one, but it consider so fancy to me so I went for the cheaper one, my rod is about $12.00

It works for me anyway. Thank you.....:)

You are catching some amazing fish!
How are you weighing the fish? Do you have a weigh sling?
Using a carps jaw or gill will likely harm the fish... shocked

I used single hook, but when I tried to unhook, he was fighting and that's why it has some blood on the mouth, just a little not that much smile

Viet Carper, there is a new categry for texas state and lake records. It is called catch and release record, for this record you do not need certified scales, nor any scales at all.You need to measure the length of the fish, pinch the tail to get the tail fins at there longest and measure the length. Get photograph og the measuring device with you pinching the tail on the ground would be easiest. Also take a girth measurement.Get pictures also of you holding the fish. Then have one witness. Then submit. The rules are on the internet.Certified scales are also something I dont have and cant afford. We will have to go for catch and release record.Keep your cape drawn tight and fly high!

Actually your scales my be certifiable. There is a place I think in bastrop that might can do this for I beleve$25 or close to that amount. Not all scales can pass though.

I'm not in it for the money.I'm fishing the ATC for the experience. Now if you want to fish for money you can fish the tournament after it for a chance at cash. They have pay lakes further up north and in the mid west. And there's always the CAWC every year in NY.

I'm not fishing for money either, just a way for me to ease my mind when I have a problem. Sometimes I gather a group and fish together, $25 or $30 for each person just to make the game more excited....

I start my fishing session today as early as I could. I came down there at 9:30AM and set up all my rods and reels. It did not take that long as usual. Here is my rods and reels again, along with some bells on the top

This was an amazing day, full of sun and no wind at all. Lots of people rowing boats around where I was fishing. It start up very slow, I had to wait for about an hour and a half before I got my first hit. That was a very good lucking common.

About 15 minutes later, got me another hit, another common, not as big as the first one, but it count smile

It seemed like fish are waiting for me down there, right after I released this fish

I got another run, and another common as usual.

They seemed to understand that the food they were enjoying were deathly food smile ==> No more bite for about two hours or so.
It was good because I have sometimes talking to many nice people over here. They came and see what I used for bait, and what to know for carp fishing. I told them that I just started carping about 4 months and I don't know much about it, but I was willing to tell them what I have learned about Carp Fishing, and they seemed enjoy it.

While I was doing my own "presentation", there was a HUGE hit, the fish almost took my pole to the water, I was fast enough not to let it happen. I tried to reel it in, and it was heavy. There it is, a 56lbs buffalo

Some more pics about 56lbs buffalo

VC, I'd love to see your hook/weight/bait arrangement.
It seems to have done a great job hooking the fish.
