When white bass start running up creeks and tributaries, how far do they go? Do they go until they just can't get any further upstream? Or do they go up just until they find rocky bottoms? Thanks for the help---I'm making early plans to try and put my son on some whites in early March.

it varies. they will look for the right structure, water clarity, current, and such. but a good bet is to find them as far up as they can go.

thanks for the info. we're scouting feeder creeks to a nearby lake to try and do our first white bass fishing when they run this year.

If we don't gets lotz of rain they will not be any creeks for them to go up. I think there is more fish that spawn in the lake than the few that go up creeks.At least the lakes I fish.
