I don't get to go fishing all that often. So drooling over the fishing reports is a daily affair. There have been so many big fat stripers coming out of Texoma for weeks now I've really been itching to get down there.

The instant we decide to come down for the long New Year's weekend I notice a change in the fishing reports. Seems that when I go on vacation (to go fishing) the fish go on vacation too. They probably go to my house and lounge in the pool.

So I want to apologize in advance for this weekend. I will be on the lake and the fishing might suck smile smile

Now I gotta flip a coin and decide whether to launch on our side of the lake (Buncombe) or drag the boat around to Lakeside and fish that side of the lake.

Good luck to all this weekend, especially me smile

Tough question...at this point I might be inclined to launch over at lakeside and fish the north side...vie been beat up out west 3 out of the last 4 days...

But they gotta eat sooner or later. may be this weekend

Sorry for your bad luck. I think we are related. I cannot count the times I get there a day late. I try to not not even look at the reports sometimes but you got to research or you will never catch anything just fishing now and then. Im gonna go to Tawakoni saturday and see if I can ruin the hybrid bite for them crazy

One thing we had to learn was you catch more if you stop and fish instead of ride around in the boat trying to decide where to fish.
There's so much water that you feel like you need to "go to the fish" when they're just as likely right there under your boat.
good luck on Tawak, I won't tell 'em your coming smile

I know what you mean about looking for them. I have moved and came back to find someone tearing them up right where I was.

JC,
So true! Same thing happens to me these days, always a day late or early. Also w/ the wind, all I have to do is mention taking the boat out & the winds cranks up to 30-40mph. Good luck to you & happy new year.
