Anyone besides me ever had this?

My Grandma would send us kids out to pick a bunch of the little green grapes that grew along the fences and she'd make cobbler with 'em. They're sour things, but baked in a cobbler it's one of the best things I've ever tasted. Then again, she and I were the only two who loved it!

Is a mustang grape like a muscadine?

LOL, not sure what a muscadine is..

Mustang grapes are just those little green grapes that grow on fence lines all over central Texas.

I'm pretty sure they are the same thing.
But I'm wrong.

The ones up in Walnut Springs would stay green all summer and only turn purple in the fall. So the mustang grape cobbler was a summer thing. Once they turned sweet she'd send us out to fill bucket loads and she put up jelly. I think mustang just refered to the fact that they were wild grapes.
