Those look Great! I believe you could put one of them in
someones swimming pool and you would have crappie get around
them little jewels. Good job, get them out while they are
nice and fresh.

The only advice I would give you on those is to drill holes in the bottom of the bucket so that you can put rebar through coming out on all four sides. I use 4ft pieces. That way, when you sink them and they hit bottom, they are not as easy to tip over. I have been using bamboo like that for years, but always had the tipping issue. If you want to get real fancy with the rebar, bend the rebar at a 90 degree angle about 6 to 8 inches from the end so that it digs into the mud bottom.

Those look great and will hold ALOT of fish. Even after the leaves are gone, those bamboo rods will be there for a very long time. I have some that have held fish for 8 years running now.

Great idea with the rebar! I was wondering also to save a little money...has anyone used sand in their buckets and just "capped" it with concrete to lock the bamboo in place? I did this with my first condos because I didn't feel like going all the way to the store for more concrete and it worked fine...just a thought....

i just built some of those bamboo condos myself and sunk them last night. hope they produce. i sank 5 of them along with 4 trees, in different spots. hardest part was loading them bamboo condos in boat/truck, I had to get an extra long wratchet strap and sinch em down. sinking them was easy.

I was thinking about filling buckets up with rocks, then capping it off with concrete

i like the rock/sand idea in the buckets then capping the with concrete. That $3 something a bag for the 80 lb. sacks starts to add up after a while.
