I have never fished Lake Tyler, but I am going to this year due to all the tournaments out there. Any advice on where to start out there? Is one side considered better than the other?

East is better for size but the West is better for numbers. Do not know why ? East side has more grass so I guess that would be it. Fun lake to fish.Good Luck.

I guess the only grass over there now is in the front yards of the lake front properties. I still say from what I know and who I know that catches lots of big bass over there the East is better when the lake is full.Just my opinion.

Well the lake is not full and wont be for quite a while now. there is not a single blade of grass on the east side. it was there last year but not now. you cn find grass on the west lake, but you got to know where to look. the last 3 tourn i have fished on tyler i have weighed in 19,22,17 lb stringers, and all have come from the west lake.

Good deal that is some nice sacks.I guess you may know of Ronnie Durrett SR/JR they are just two of the guys I know over there that do well. I can see why those sacks came from the West side when the east has no grass. Grass equals bass.Hope it fills back up soon. Late winter rains and early springs rains will help now that the ground is wet from the other rains.

We need more rain bad. The low water levels and continuous spraying the grass in east lake wiped it out over there. But it will come back, it always does.

Well caught 5 yesterday, only had one 3 lb keeper. The one keeper came off a sexy shad trap.

On the East Lake there is a Cove called Ski Cove, It is on the East side (you will see the ski markers) go all the way to the back just before the bridge. Since the water is low you can see an old road come across with a topless bridge over a creek bed. To the right all along that bank is grass, also up in the cover by the bridge is grass. Fished it a week ago, caught 12 bass ranging from 2-6lbs. They were in about 4-5' of water and were hitting red and silver traps. Slow retrieve with slight jerks. There is also a boat dock over in that area with some brush under it. It is still slightly submerged and had a few fish hanging out.

OOPS, The secret is out. Now watch all of the DFW area saturate these lakes once again, like they do every year. Are our lakes over here in East Tx that much better than those in the DFW area?
