Had a decent day Tuesday on Grapevine. The conditions were perfect for a poor day of fishing. The front had just arrived with wind from the West and blue bird skies. It was cold at first and gradually the conditions improved as the day progressed. My guests were George and his son Alex and he was here from Phoenix for Christmas. They were perfect customers as we only had one backlash and one hang-up on the bottom. The catching was steady and the bite was just enough to keep it interesting. Four hours produced 37 huge whites and the one black bass. They were on the drop-offs in 25-30 feet of water. The best result was had by holding the slab as still as possible. The hits were very soft and at times undetectable. Raise the rod tip and a fish was on. 3/4-1 ounce slabs were the ticket with an occasional hook-up on the Flies-by Night.

That Ditch Pickle looks like he has been eating well.

The Ditch Pickle is just like me and put on a little more girth during the Holiday Season.

Great job on the fish for the Dad/Son. You been fishing Lewisville much?
