I read the registration requirements for Texas boats and I am still uncertain on one thing. It says any motorized boat shall be registered, does that include a small bass buster type boat with a trolling motor? Is a trolling motor considered motorized? Thanks

Yes, a troliing motor is considered motorized. If it takes gasoline, diesel or electricity it is considered motorized.

Texas Registration Requirements
The following vessels when on Texas public water are required to have current registration, including when docked, moored, or stored.

•All motorized boats, regardless of length;
•All sailboats 14 feet in length or longer or any sailboat with an auxiliary engine(s); and
•USCG Documented vessels (New — see section below).
Exempted vessels — All (non-motorized) canoes, kayaks, punts, rowboats, or rubber rafts (regardless of length) when paddled, poled, or oared and sailboats under 14 feet in length when windblown.

I live in Hideaway, these are private lakes, I wonder if that makes a difference?

If you're on private water you don't need to worry about registering it. TPWD registration requirements only apply to public waters.
