I heard of people fishing in the Windcrest pronds. I also heard it was pretty good fishing. So how do you get in to fish in the ponds if you dont live in Windcrest?
All information is appreciated. smile

This post should probably be in the bank fishing section of the forum, but out of curiosity, where is Windcrest?

I heard of the Windcrest ponds recently. Where are they located and how do you get in to fish the ponds if you dont live in the neighborhood?Anyone fished the ponds lately and any advice for bass fishing?
All information is appreciated.

Are the Windcrest Ponds open to the public for fishing or do you have to live there to get in and fish?
All information is appreciated. smile

I don't live there and fish it all the time. It's off Walzem/Montgomery road all the way down passed the HEB. You'll see a Chevron after you pass the HEB and a neighborhood across the street from it. That's Windcrest. Take a left into the neighborhood and there is a tank immediately to your left and one up top off to your left off Spindrift Dr. (About 3-4 streets up with the no outlet sign.

Thanks for the directions. How big are the ponds and what's the common size bass?

They're not too too big, and the average size fish in there is 1-2 lbs but there are bass way bigger in there.

I have been following your post. It was such a nice day that I decided to give the ponds a go. I have never fished those ponds. I fished both ponds for about 2.5 hours. That was plenty of time because they are very small. I caught 3 dink bass and a sunfish on a small chrome rattle trap. I had to crank that rattle trap really slow to get the bass to bite. Better than sitting at home though.
