Lake has come up about 1.5 feet over the last 3 weeks. The crappie are bitting great on black/blue jigs in about 12 feet of water off the river aound Huxley Bay.

Going to start after the bass soon.

Boat ramp and Huxley Bay is open and bo problems. The launch at Bayou Siepe is open as well.

Just a little warning..with the lake up just a little over 1 foot, all the cut off stumps in the boat lanes will be under water again so be extra cautious. They'll be just under water!
I don't use the boat lanes. I go through the trees that are showing, next to the lanes and haven't even bumped anything yet.
Alpine ramp is in good shape but you had best idle if your not sure of trees in the boat lanes.

Quite a few boats been fishing every day so fish must be biting .

Good luck and Happy New Year.

I hope to go up this weekend. Report from dad is before the rain he was catching black bass in 6' of water on candybug worms and lizards. Best was 13 fish in one afternoon, the biggest around 18". He went 2 times yesterday and caught 5 fish, nothing big.

Lake is 1/2 foot lower than it was this time last year and a little off color in the creeks.

I've been out there the last few weekends out of Huxley Bay...been catching a lot of small bass on 6" black lizards right around Huxley Bay...
