I got my Jackson Cuda last week from Dave Holl of Kayak Instruction. After getting it home and spending time with I am really impressed. I have 2012 Ride 115 and wanted another Yak so I could have 2 and be able to take a friend fishing. This one will complement the ride very well.
Here is a video of my new cuda as I unpackaged it and rigged it ou out.
It was it was the one on your car But thats another story! I dont know how you can tell cause the were all black widows! ....oohh yah mine had the rudder!
I have only fished in 3 kayaks. The 1st one a belonged to a friend who was the one who got me into kayak fishing. I was a SOT field and stream 12' with a neoprene seat. This seat your legs were literally out in front like sitting on the floor. I fished most of the day in that and after standing during breaks I was quite numb and stiff.
That was still enough to get me into kayak fishing, so much I put the bass boat on hold indefinitely.
I purchased a 2012 wilderness systems ride 115. Great boat. Its seat was higher than the field and stream and a good bit more comfortable. Seat in a ride is still low but comfortable. You have a low CG when fishing allowing for a better feeling of stability.
Now the Jackson Coosa's and Cuda's all have the same seat. I got to take my CUDA out yesterday for my 1st run. The Cuda/Coosa seat in the high position is wonderful. I never got tired or leg stiffness (great knee bend). In the high position I did feel that I was a tad tippy when leaning, but I think its something to get used to. In the low position the seat is still higher up than in my ride but way more stable feeling than in the high position. The seat is a strong reason for going with a Jackson Kayak.
Here is a short video of my 1st trip in my Cuda. Didn't catch a thing but had fun getting out.
