Patty told me I couldn't fish today, but watched me sulk around the house. "Okay," she said after watching me observe the radar. "Go fishing."
Man, it took me 10 minutes to rig the boat and I was off to Fork again. I arrive and start fishing at 12:45. Around 2:30 a guy pulls up asking for jumper cables and I pass them to him. Sparks fly and smoke rises from his boat. Turns out he needs a tow. His girlfriend and her friend sat huddled shivering and I remember my episode last winter, so I offer to tow them to the ramp and drive them from the Minnow Bucket over to Pope's Landing.
The trip was short, but productive. Managed 12 crappie and 8 yellow bass. Look at the big one in the well. 15" monster! Driving home now. Too late to launch again and I am leaving my Mother-in-law's house tonight, making Fork too far for a moments notice trip. frown

Oh, these fish weren't from the main lake points. Plenty of fish on secondary points in 25-29ft of water. Nicer ones!

several questions. is your mother-in-law single? and how did that bobber end up in your live well?

good job on the fish AND the good samaritan work. that stuff seems to come back around when we need it the most.

Thanks Bobby.
Here is a photo of the Mother-in-law for you. She is single.

She is only 1 hour and 15 minutes from Fork!

Oh, that is the phantom bobber. It is always there when I am fishing deep and disappears once the spring arrives.

pretty funny. my buddies and i call'em "mystery" bobbers. they kinda hang around, but nobody knows what they're for.

Doing the right thing is always the right thing to do no matter what. Helping folks when they need it the most is what fisherman do. I hope to jerk some perch next to you sometime.

I also commend you for doing the right thing. I would feel so bad for not helping that I would not enjoy fishing any way.
