Patty told me I couldn't fish today, but watched me sulk around the house. "Okay," she said after watching me observe the radar. "Go fishing."
Man, it took me 10 minutes to rig the boat and I was off to Fork again. I arrive and start fishing at 12:45. Around 2:30 a guy pulls up asking for jumper cables and I pass them to him. Sparks fly and smoke rises from his boat. Turns out he needs a tow. His girlfriend and her friend sat huddled shivering and I remember my episode last winter, so I offer to tow them to the ramp and drive them from the Minnow Bucket over to Pope's Landing.
The trip was short, but productive. Managed 12 crappie and 8 yellow bass. Look at the big one in the well. 15" monster! Driving home now. Too late to launch again and I am leaving my Mother-in-law's house tonight, making Fork too far for a moments notice trip.
